Help Wanted

The Fowl Balls is looking for writers. We have some extra cubicles to fill here at TFB world headquarters, and we need some like-minded, borderline-douchebag Yankee fanatics to contribute to the site. If you are interested (and who wouldn't be) drop a line at jimmydugan.thefowlballs@gmail.com . I look forward to seeing what type of degenerates would want to work for us.

Housekeeping

Hey all - just a few notes on what to expect from The Balls in the near future...

- The Morning Dump will make it's triumphant, corn-riddled return on Friday so you know exactly what to read this weekend

- I am also working on running some guest post over the next few weeks because even a man as impressive as myself can't do it on his own

- The blogroll is also going to subject to overhaul to make sure that only the best Yankee blogs sit in the prime real estate in the margin of the world's best Yankees blog.

- Drop me a line at jimmydugan[dot]thefowlballs[at]gmail[dot]com with any suggestions, comments, or vids of lewd acts that come your way.

Thanks y'all

Dearest Minions,

This weekend The Balls set a site record for page views, unique visitors, and comments in its long and distinguished history. Thanks to all of our followers and supporters over the years. Coming soon we will be running another contest and posting some big time interviews for you, the reader.

Again, if you have any questions, comments, or theories as to why Derek Jeter refuses to let the mid-nineties high-top fade go by the wayside like everyone else did, drop me a line at jimmydugan.thefowlballs@gmail.com.

Thanks again.

- JD

Sorry to ruin your weekend, but...

Jimmy Dugan is taking a short hiatus for the weekend. Duty calls, and this problem drinker is off to a bachelor party. Letting me and my friends loose on a respectable establishment always promises to look like caddy day at Bushwood. I encourage you all to comment, just know that I will not have the desire or ability to read them until Monday.

Thanks again for reading The Fowl Balls.

Check This Out

A small piece of business to tend to. Our friends over at Hugging Harold Reynolds have put together the genius idea of getting a bunch of bloggers together for a weekend (because God knows we woulnd't have anything else to do) and call it Blogs with Balls.

What is it? Well, if you love sports blogs, and live in and around New York and want to learn more about it, it’s the place to be. BwB will include speakers/panelists like SI’s Jeff Pearlman & Jimmy Traina, along with Deadspin’s AJ Daulerio and many other blogging luminaries. If you care, I’m planning on attending, if that’s an actual draw.

According to their site, “Blogs With Balls is a series of regional social sports blogger and new media gatherings featuring speakers and panelists specifically focused on sports fans, writers, sites, teams, athletes and companies; and their ability to maximize new media outlets for promotion and advancement.”

You can get discounted pre registration tickets to the event - while they last - at blogswithballs.eventbrite.com. Jimmy Dugan will be holding an autograph session during the event - bring your Sharpie's!

Been so long...

A million apologies to my loyal followers for the lack of posts over the past week or so. This is a big week coming up, I promise. Both Deputy Dawg and I will be constructing our ideal bullpens and bench players in preparation for the upcoming season. The Yankees take on the Cubs for no apparent reason in exhibition games this Friday and Saturday, unofficially opening the new Stadium. Check back early and often for our take on the latest news in Yankeeland.

I am a whore

Just a heads up for our readers, I have come to an agreement to do a few guest posts on Bronx Baseball Daily. Check out the site - they do a nice job. This is just the next step in my plan to take over all blogs, therefore making one super-blog that feeds off of the lives of lesser blogs.

The Balls Continues its Assault on the Interhighway

Yours truly wrote a small piece for Steve Lombardi over at Was Watching. I encourage you to take a look at his site, as he does a great job over there of following Yankees news (but we are funnier - take THAT legitimate reporters!).

Housekeeping

Just a few updates from The Fowl Balls.

- Please be sure to check out our "links" section. We have worked hard to hand select the best blogs and resources on the interhighway.

- Peter Abraham will be running a piece that I wrote about Nick Swisher tomorrow. Be sure to pop over there and give it a look.

- The contest for a free t-shirt will be announced this afternoon.

That is all.

See You Next Year

Remember when you were in elementary school, and the 'cool' teacher used to say that the last winter break? Then you grow up and go back to find out that the very same teacher is a card carrying tool bag? Kids are so impressionable and dumb. That's why they are so easily lured by pedophiles.

Anyways, there will be a break in the action here at The Fowl Balls. Posting will resume on January 5th. Lots of surprises coming for a big 2009!!!!1!!11!!!!
